# Super Pocket Prix

A top-down racer where the whole track fits on one screen, and so do your friends. Up to four players race a Grand Prix of four races and a Cup Final: finish in the top three or you are out. Spend scrap on weird parts between races, then lose the lot when the cup ends.

## One screen. Four friends. Top three or you're out.
Super Pocket Prix is a top-down sprint racer in the spirit of the old one-screen arcade racers: the whole track is on screen all the time, so everybody on the couch can read the race at a glance. Four buttons each - steer, power, brake - and a fifth for whatever the item box gave you. Tap the brake in a corner to drift, hold the slide until the sparks turn orange, and fire out of it faster than you went in.

## A cup is a run
Each Grand Prix is four races and a Cup Final built from pieces of the tracks you just raced. Finish in the top three to race on; anyone behind is out of the cup and becomes pit crew, dropping oil and barrels in front of their friends. Between races the garage sells tuning and parts with the scrap you won - and when the cup ends, win or lose, all of it is gone except one part in the locker.

## Twenty tracks that fight back
- **Six Grand Prix** - the fairground, the seaside, the ski village, the desert, the city docks and steel works, and Scrap Masters, the hardest tracks remixed.
- **Set pieces** - a Ferris wheel whose gondolas knock you about, a drawbridge deck that slides from kerb to kerb, tunnels, flyovers, level crossings, magnet cranes and walls of tyres that burst into the road.
- **Shortcuts** - blocked by tyres, water or a gap. Blast through with a nitro or jump them with a Spring, if you judge the speed right.
- **Four bonus tracks** - each one opened by winning a Grand Prix.

## Build a weird car
- **Four chassis** - saloon, kart, pickup, and a tank that fires shells and is not allowed to win.
- **24 drivers** - from Bearded Bev the strongwoman to Giles in Finance, each with a perk of their own.
- **20 parts** and five stats to tune: big blocks, drift kits, magnets, a glovebox for a second item.
- **11 items** - rockets, homing rockets, oil, springs, tow hooks, ghost paint, a tornado in a can and a jar of skulls that swaps your left and right.

## More ways to play
- **Battle** - three balloons each on three arenas, last car with a balloon wins.
- **Knockout** - the last car at the end of every lap is out.
- **Time Trial** - any chassis on its own stats, a ghost of your best run and medal times.
- **Daily Cup** - one seeded cup a day, one attempt.
- **Team Cup** - two against two, the better finish counts.

## And the rest of it
- **1 to 4 players** on one screen, with bots filling the field: two on one keyboard, the rest on gamepads.
- **A front page** after every cup, with a headline about what you did, and a replay of the best moment after every race.

## Chassis

- **Saloon** - Balanced, and a little better at everything than it looks.
- **Kart** - Small and twitchy: quick to steer and accelerate, fragile.
- **Pickup** - Heavy and tough: shrugs off run-off and walls, slow off the line.
- **Tank** - Fires a shell at the car ahead every 10 s. Tanks never win a race.

## Drivers

- **Local Hero** - Knows every pothole: +1 tyres.
- **Bearded Bev** - Bends axles for fun: +1 body.
- **Tanky the Clown** - Comic timing: a free nitro the moment he drops to last.
- **Candy Floss** - Some entrance: the biggest launch boost in the yard.
- **Hot Foot** - Left her own reception: a nitro at the start, and a stronger launch.
- **Captain Barnacle** - Wet tarmac is just tarmac to him.
- **Deckchair Doreen** - Half a car wide: harder to hit, and she fits through gaps.
- **Lifeguard Lex** - Built like a lifeboat: +25 integrity. They never panic.
- **Chip Shop Sid** - Grease on everything: the run-off slows him less.
- **The Yeti** - Snow and ice are just floor to him.
- **Kai on Ice** - Spins on a sixpence: +1 steering.
- **Ingrid Neon** - Carves: every drift exit pushes her out harder.
- **Ninety-Nine Nina** - Starts with a can and keeps a spare in the freezer: holds two.
- **Mirage** - Sand is a road to them.
- **Sunstroke Dawn** - Sniffs out scrap through a dust cloud: pickups drift her way.
- **Courier Kit** - Gone before the lights change: +1 gearbox.
- **Night Shift Nia** - Drives all night: +1 engine.
- **Giles, in Finance** - Nothing below half speed. Everything above it.
- **Scrapper** - +20% scrap from every race.
- **Crusher Kim** - Contact costs him nothing and costs you double.
- **The Magpie** - Keeps everything: a second item slot.
- **Baron Rust** - Oil barely moves him and walls hurt less.
- **Sprocket Sal** - Throws spanners at tailgaters.
- **The Czar** - +1 engine before any tuning. Walls hurt him more.
